Future Substitute Teachers
The new requirements to substitute teach now allows students enrolled as an Education Major, with at least 60 credits the opportunity to serve in this capacity. If you are interested in substitute teaching, please see the application requirements listed below:
Must be currently enrolled in a Pennsylvania approved college or university teacher preparation program.
Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours or equivalent.
Must teach a maximum of 10 days for a single employee, and a maximum of 20 days per year.
Must meet requirements of Section 111, 111.1 and 1109 of the School Code related to clearances and moral character.
Renewal provisions:
may be renewed for one additional year.
must provide proof of completion of an additional 15 credits hours or equivalent from a commonwealth college or university.
must remain enrolled in a commonwealth college or university
